The Hudson River Yacht Club is a private yacht and social club located in Brooklyn, New York on Paerdegat Basin. It was organized in 1873, where its original home was in New York City at the Foot of West 70th Street and the Hudson River. It’s the twelfth oldest yacht club in the State of New York and one of the originally established yacht clubs on the island of Manhattan in the 1800’s.
On September 11, 2001 we are all aware of the tragedy that took place in our home. Many innocent and brave lives were lost that day. One of our members and friend's, volunteered to help clear the World Trade Center site. At that time he saved one of the beams that was loaded on his truck and he always wanted to make it a memorial piece of history and display it, once he joined the club, he made a decision that it would be an honor for all of us to have it here. Now after 18 years in storage it is erected in front of the clubhouse with Pride and Honor.
God Bless America - and Lets "NEVER FORGET"
